Valentino,der große italienische Meister der Haute Couture entwirft erstmals die Kostüme für die beiden Live-Balletteinlagen des Neujahrskonzerts 2010.
Live übertragen werden zwei Ballettstücke zu Musik von Johann Strauß Sohn aus dem Kunsthistorischen Museum: zur Polka "Ein Herz, ein Sinn", dargeboten von Eleonora Abbagnato und Nicolas Le Riche, und zum "Morgenblätterwalzer", getanzt von Solisten und dem Corps de ballet der Wiener Staatsoper mit insgesamt acht Paaren.

Sixth Annual Festival of the Aegean – featuring music, theater, and dance – to take place July 14-25, on Greek Island of Syros
Conductor Peter Tiboris (USA) founder of MidAmerica Productions of New York City and the Festival of the Aegean announces the Sixth Annual Festival of the Aegean, which will take place from July 14 – 25, 2010, on the Island of Syros, Greece. A fully-staged production of Bizet’s Carmen will highlight the festival.
Carmen will be staged and directed by Renato Zanella with Vinicio Cheli, lighting designer; Giorgos Kolios, set design concept; and Lena Chatzigrigoriou, production manager. It will be performed in French with Greek surtitles. Performances will take place on July 14, 16, and 18. This production of Carmen is presented in cooperation with the Greek National Opera, Giovanni Pacor, artistic director.
For the second time in two years, Renato Zanella, dance director and choreographer at Festival of the Aegean, will present a ballet program featuring dancers from top international companies. “Mythos and Passion in Dance” will include works by well-known choreographers Roland Petit, Roland Savkovic, Marius Petipa, Kenneth McMillan, and Mr. Zanella. Music is by Adam, Prokofiev, Tchaikovsky, Brian Eno, Massenet, and others. The ballet programs will take place on July 23, 24, and 25.
Dancers are Olga Esina, first soloist of the Vienna State Opera Ballet (St. Petersburg, Russia); Beatrice Knop, first soloist of the Berlin Ballet (Berlin, Germany); Maria Kousouni, first soloist of the National Ballet of Greece (Athens, Greece); Anais Chalendard, first soloist of the English National Ballet (Lyon, France); Eno Peci, first soloist of the Vienna State Opera Ballet (Tirana, Albania); Rainer Krenstetter, soloist of the Berlin Ballet (Berlin, Germany); Igor Milos, National Ballet of Greece (Athens, Greece); and Esteban Berlanga, soloist of the English National Ballet (Albacete, Spain).
